Minor Skin Care / Wound Dressing

Our Minor Skin Care & Wound Dressing service specializes in healing of superficial wounds, skin tears, pressure ulcers, and post-surgical incision care. We manage wound dressings safely, follow physician orders, and help prevent complications.

What We Treat

Cuts, scrapes, skin tears
Post-surgical wounds
Pressure sores

What We Handle / Don’t Handle:

We can manage:

Regular dressing changes (non-complex wounds)
Superficial skin tears, abrasions
Pressure sore prevention & dressing changes
Post-surgical incisions (as long as no deep infection & per doctor’s orders)
Skin hygiene, moisturizing, risk assessment

We don’t handle:

Deep or highly complex surgical wounds requiring specialized surgical intervention
Active infection beyond superficial (we refer as needed)
IV wound therapies or debridement needing hospital or specialized clinic unless referred

Cleaning / debriding (superficial) if allowed by state/physician
Applying new dressings
Monitoring for infection, drainage, healing progress
Advice on skin protection, moisturization, pressure relief

Our Approach

Assessment by Nurse to evaluate wound type, risk factors, and create care plan.
Dressing Schedule & Protocol including supplies, frequency, hygiene practices.
On-going Monitoring to detect signs of infection or complications.
Education for Client & Caregiver about skin care, wound hygiene, prevention.
Referrals to specialist / physician if needed.

How to Access the Service:

Begin with a free nurse assessment.
Provide physician orders if needed.
Schedule dressing change visits.
Receive home care guidance for ongoing maintenance.

Locations & Frequency:

Available throughout Portland & Vancouver.
Visits scheduled as needed: daily, every other day, weekly, depending on wound and physician plan.
Emergency on-call for urgent wound issues if available.

Cost & Supplies:

Supplies may be included or billed separately—clear explanation given in advance.
Transparent pricing for each dressing change visit.
